The Assistant Director of Recruitment at Western Kentucky University (WKU) is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and enhancing the university's admissions and enrollment processes. This key position directs the development and execution of comprehensive recruitment strategies that align with WKU's mission, aiming to attract and enroll a well-rounded and qualified student body. The Assistant  Director will manage and optimize marketing, recruitment budgets, and data-driven initiatives to effectively target prospective students across traditional and non-traditional student groups. Additionally, the role involves maintaining high admissions standards, streamlining communication strategies across multiple student populations and leading a team to implement innovative recruitment practices and technologies. The position plays a crucial role in supporting WKU's strategic enrollment goals and ensuring the success and efficiency of the recruitment and admissions functions.

  • Participates in strategic planning exercise to align recruitment activities with the goals of the strategic plan.
  • Plan, coordinates and reports on all aspects of the recruitment of undergraduate prospective students including being in contact with relevant stakeholders, assisting admission counselors with planning and scheduling recruitment travel, event planning and other various recruitment events.  Hires and oversees, including hiring, training, evaluation, coaching and professional development of recruitment staff.
  • Provides data as needed and necessary internally with the Office of Undergraduate Admission and externally across the university.
    Utilizes CRM data to track and analyze application review progress and release of admission decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with university marketing partners to ensure enrollment marketing efforts meet the demand of the university's prospective student audience.
  • Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective student, high schools, community colleges and community-based organizations.
  • Manages phone and email inquiries about applicants, requirements, application status, admission decision, etc.
