Under the direction of the Deputy University Registrar, the Assistant University Registrar promotes the “students first” service concept and performs administrative and professional duties that support student’s timely degree completion. The Assistant University Registrar oversees the student degree progress program, not limited to the proactive evaluation of student records to ensure timely completion of degree, end of term degree clearance, graduation recovery plans, the encoding of the undergraduate and graduate academic catalogs in DegreeWorks and the maintenance of CAPP. The Assistant University Registrar serves as primary scriber and trainer for the University-wide degree evaluation system, DegreeWorks. The Assistant University Registrar participates with the Deputy University Registrar and Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services & University Registrar in regular planning and decision-making for the Office of the Registrar.

  • Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of federal laws as they apply to student records.
  • Knowledge of relational databases. Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (Buckley Amendment).
  • Knowledge and understanding of academic rules and regulations.

  • Demonstrated skill in examining and re-engineering operations and in implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Aptitude for systems management.
Required Education
Master’s Degree in related field such as Higher Education, Business Administration, Leadership, Public Administration and Policy, or College Student Personnel; or Bachelor’s degree in a related area of specialization and related experience that equates to an advanced degree.
   
Experience Required
  • Experience in mentoring, supervising, hiring, training and development and evaluating professional and/or support staff.
  • Proven experience scribing within Ellucian’s DegreeWorks.
  • Proven experience leading a proactive degree analysis review process.
  • Proven experience processing data within Ellucian Banner.
  • Increasingly responsible experience in a Registrar’s Office setting with increased supervisory and/or leadership responsibilities.
Additional Consideration - Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in using an imaging or document management system such as Perceptive Content.
  • Experience with running and/or editing queries in SQL+ or Toad.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating and communicating with faculty, colleagues, and administrators to advance the Office of the Registrar.
