Job Duties:

 

The Transcript Evaluator/Operations Assistant reports to the Registrar, co-manages the review, evaluation, and articulation of academic transfer credit into the student information system, including assisting stakeholders with determining course equivalencies. The Evaluator/Assistant also provides support for maintenance of the student information and degree audit systems, and the day-to-day maintenance and management of student records.

 

DUTIES :

 

  • Co-manages evaluation of transcripts and transfer credit, determination of appropriate articulation and entering data as appropriate into the student information system
  • Co-manages the process of updating and publishing academic catalogs
  • Provide appropriate information regarding status of evaluations to all stakeholders
  • Provides support for degree audit system configurations and maintenance
  • Co-manage curriculum setup and maintenance in the student information and degree audit systems
  • Leads the review of applicants for graduation, graduation processes, and activities
  • Serve as a member of an integrated team dedicated to effective management of student records
  • Comply with and maintain knowledge of all University policies
  • Actively work towards building cooperative and collaborative relationships with peers and internal faculty and staff
  • Maintain “open door” to internal and external customers
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to work practices and offer viable solutions for implementation
  • Routinely practice self-monitoring by assessing self to make improvements or take corrective action to improve performance
  • Complete other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications:

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Previous work experience in higher education student records support services
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or similar computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.)
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner or similar ERP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED :

 

  • Experience with Degree Works or similar degree audit system is preferred

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND JPB REQUIREMENTS :

 

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently or with minimum supervision
  • Ability to maintain technological skills and adapt to changing technology
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing work scope, tasks, and situations
  • Proactively engage in problem-solving to improve office processes and responses to stakeholders

 

WORKING CONDITIONS :

 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position such as standing and/or sitting for a prolonged period of time
  • Occasionally tasked with filing which may require low postures such as crouching, kneeling, and/or stooping
  • Must be able to occasionally adjust or move objects up to 25 pounds in all directions.
  • This position requires constant communication with others to exchange information
  • Frequently uses hands/fingers to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as copier, printer, etc
  • Occasionally tasked with operating a motor vehicle for university business
  • Frequently uses near vision for use of computers and reading small print
  • Occasionally works in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind
  • Occasionally exposed to noisy environments
